Carly & Neil: A Shelburne Waterfront Elopement Rooted in Love & Tradition
Oct 7, 2025 | By: Elisabeth Viilu Photography
Some celebrations are so heartfelt and personal that they feel like stepping inside someone’s most cherished memories. Carly and Neil’s intimate elopement and Jewish conversion ceremony was one of those moments. Beautifully woven together on a golden afternoon at Carly’s parents’ home, right on the water in Shelburne, Vermont.
The setting couldn’t have been more serene. A calm lake breeze, and the warm hum of family laughter floating across the yard. Every corner of the property reflected love and legacy, from the handmade chuppah overlooking the water to the tables adorned with beautiful flowers.
Their ceremony was both deeply meaningful and deeply personal. A union of love, faith, and intention. Neil’s Jewish conversion added an emotional depth to the day that touched everyone present. As they exchanged vows under the chuppah, surrounded by close family and the soft sound of water lapping the shore, there was a quiet sense of something timeless unfolding.
The portraits had the light dancing across the lake, the trees catching the last hints of summer green, and the two of them absolutely glowing. There’s something about elopements small, intentional, and anchored in home makes every photo feel more like a memory than a pose.
Carly and Neil’s day was a gentle reminder that the most meaningful celebrations don’t need grandeur just love, family, and the courage to make the day your own.
